Tucson is struggling with one of the highest poverty rates in America. This dire situation is compounded by a shortage of affordable housing and skyrocketing rental prices.
Boxes of Hope intends to put a significant dent in Tucson’s housing crisis by repurposing abandoned shipping containers and transforming them into livable homes. We will help people who are in desperate need of affordable, rental housing, including seniors, teachers, veterans, single parents and laborers.
Boxes of Hope will create thriving neighborhoods and offer them a safety net from homelessness.
But putting roofs over people’s heads is just the beginning. We’ve partnered with La Frontera to provide residents with behavioral healthcare and job training. Looking forward, we’ll help them get back on their feet, earn a living and become more self-sufficient.
